Brief History

South Portland ME dates back to 1630 when it was most known as an agricultural community. In 1808, it became the home of Fort Preble, which was established to protect Portland's harbor. The community was incorporated in 1895, and over the years, it developed into a thriving city where many ships were built for World War II. Today, the community continues to thrive and is home to a large variety of small and large businesses.

Parks and Recreation

Special Events

Another popular event that is held near S. Portland properties is the Annual Harvest on the Harbor Fest. This event takes place in late October and features live entertainment, tasty food, wine tasting and a lobster competition. Other noteworthy events include the Reggae Fest in August and the Willard Fest in July.
